Enhance Your Lips

Many people want fuller, more sensuous lips and dermal fillers are a safe and temporary way to add volume and definition. The material is found naturally in our bodies and breaks down and diminishes over time.

What is dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are made up of a bio-degradable Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in our bodies and all living organisms. Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and wrinkles, to restore fullness and volume to the face. As we age we lose fat and our facial muscles work closer to the skin’s surface, which allow smile lines and Crows feet to become more apparent. The dermal fillers bind to water when injected and temporarily, volumise, soften and hydrate the skin. Dermal fillers diminish over time depending on the individual response to the treatment and they contain no human or animal DNA.

Your lips can be enhanced at different areas:

: The outline of your lips (Vermillion Border) to create definition and width. To treat this area can also help prevent your lipstick from bleeding.

: To treat your Cupids Bow adds contouring and definition.

: The lines going down from the sides of your mouth (Oral Commissures) to treat these can create a happier look.

: To add volume, fullness and pout to the body of the lips.

Before we start a topical anaesthetic is applied to the entire area for treatment for 15-30min. The dermal filler is injected into your lips and then massaged to smooth product evenly. You will see instant results. If you have had cold sores previously around your mouth, then dermal filler can increase your risk of an outbreak. You must have your own supply of Acyclovir to start treatment if necessary.

Post treatment

Specific post treatment instructions shall be given to you in written format for you to take home. You should not apply makeup to the treated area for 6hrs. The dermal filler will last from 6-12 months depending on how your body breaks down the product and each individual is different. You may have some swelling for 24-72hrs. Any redness, pain, itching and bruising should resolve within 2-10 days.

When NOT to use dermal filler?

: When pregnant or breastfeeding.
