Dermal fillers can enhance, add definition, contour and proportion to the face. This treatment can also create lift to the mid face and improve nose to mouth lines.
What is dermal filler?
Dermal fillers are made up of a bio-degradable Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in our bodies and all living organisms. Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and wrinkles, to restore fullness and volume to the face. As we age we lose fat and our facial muscles work closer to the skin’s surface, which allow smile lines and Crows feet to become more apparent. The dermal fillers bind to water when injected and temporarily, volumise, soften and hydrate the skin. Dermal fillers diminish over time depending on the individual response to the treatment and they contain no human or animal DNA.
Before we start a topical anaesthetic is applied to the entire area for treatment for 15-30min. This procedure is performed using a specific blunt needle (Cannula), which helps prevent the risk of puncturing a blood vessel and therefore reduce the risk of bruising. The dermal filler is specifically designed for the cheeks. This treatment may cause some immediate swelling and the final result may not been seen until after 3-4 weeks. After the dermal filler has been injected to the specific area for treatment, it is then massaged gently to smooth the product evenly. You will see instant results.
Specific post treatment instructions shall be given to you in written format for you to take home. The cheek enhancement treatments can last up to 18 months depending on how fast your body breaks down the product. You are advised not to apply pressure to the treated area for 72hrs (3 days). It is advisable that you try to sleep on your back rather than your side. Avoid applying make up for 6hrs, to reduce the risk of infection and also avoid exercising for 24hrs.
When NOT to use dermal filler?
